The General Manager - George St will have total responsibility for the management and performance of the Dymocks Sydney Flagship store. The store covers 3 levels with 2 ground floor entrances, a mezzanine and a basement over 2,600 m2 and employs a team of over 50 retail team members. The role is responsible for achieving the target sales and profitability for the store, managing a high performing, sales focussed team, delivering an outstanding customer experience and ensuring the store is presented to the highest visual merchandising standards.

This role will be responsible for all departments within the Dymocks George Street flagship store and set the aspirational standard across our network.


Skills & Experience Required

  • Senior Manager in a customer focussed retail business with experience across all aspects of store operations including sales, customer service, visual merchandising, inventory management and cost control.

  • Conflict resolution: Resolving conflict between stakeholders managing competing priorities

  • Financial accountability: Managing the P&L, and budget of a large retail store

  • Information technology: A clear understanding of information and technology systems in retailing and demonstrated utilisation to achieve results.

  • Advanced team management skills and experience with direct and indirect management of a large team.
